Hilversum

On Thursday, March 25th 2010, an information will be held in the Hilversum town hall from 19:30 to 21:30 about energy efficiency and other sustainable measures. The evening will provide information about:

• Information about national incentives for solar panels, double pane glass and personal energy advice from the ‘Meer met Minder‘-project ().
• Advice from the Hilversum municipality about Bespaardaar () and the municipal energy incentive plan.
• Information from the municipality about energy efficiency in monumental buildings.
• An information market with contractors, solar panel companies and energy advice companies.

I think I’ll go there, if only to taste the atmosphere.

Solar Days 2010

Just like last year the Solar Days will be held in May this year, and one activity of those days are the open door days by people with for instance solar panels and/or a solar hot water system. We participated () last year, with some measure of succes: eight people visited our home and I hope I showed them what can be done with regard to energy efficiency in an otherwise normal household.

This year the Solar Days and the open door days will be helf from May 8th to May 16th, 2010 and I requested to enter our house for Saturday, May 15th. So if you would like to admire our solar panels or know more about it, please come by! If Hilversum is too far away from where you live, here’s a map which will show all entrants.

If you have solar panels, a solar hot water system, a heat pump or a sustainable household in some other sense I can recommend participating because it’s great fun! Also, it’s a great chance to show people who don’t know much about all this stuff how it works.

As this regards the Dutch local elections and I don’t have much time, I will probably not translate this article.
