Short movie “A marriage with the power of solar energy”
About a week before we got married, now three months ago, Roelf van Til of New Energy TV (
) dropped by to record an interview. Because of my interest in sustainability, particularly solar power, he made a fun little movie of that interview which came online today. You can view it here (
) at the New Energy TV website. I have no way to completely translate the movie, but in short I describe how my solar adventure started with very small solar panels for charging batteries, how it grew into a battery-based system powerful enough to run a laptop and some lights and finally into the gridconnected system we have today.
Roelf, thanks a million for your trouble!

As this is about a specifically Dutch phenomenon I don’t think it’s any use translating it.
Ecomobiel 2010 fair
On Tuesday, September 21st and Wednesday, September 22nd, the Ecomobiel 2010 (
) fair will be held in Rotterdam, in their own words ‘a professional fair for green mobility’. When I surf their website it seems the fair is very focused on the motor car in all its so-called green incarnations, but here and there I see some more sustainable gems.
I’ll go on Tueday, September 21st, and I applied for three workshops:
- The New Motion (
) - E-busZ / E-traction (
) - Qwic (
)
I’m curious how it will be, and I will certainly write an article about what I saw on the fair!

As I expect the chance of an English-speaking person being interested in what I have to offer living close enough to be able to pick it is quite small, I choose not to translate this article.
