This (Japanese) video show Tokai University’s Challenger arriving at the official finish line, continuing on to the ceremonial finish line, and the team (presumably) describing how the race went.
If any one with knowledge of the Japanese language can write in the comments what they’re saying I’d be very grateful.
JUST IN: with their late afternoon chase after Tokai, the Nuon Solar Team managed to reduce the gap to 35 km.
Tokai was reported to travel at speeds under 80 kph in the final stages of the day, indicating an immediate energy saving strategy and potential low battery levels.
Both teams are in the vicinity of Woomera and its beautiful salt flats – Nuon at 2532 km from Darwin and Tokai 2567 km.
Weather predictions for tomorrow are unclear: clouds, rain, wind – all is possible.
The heat is on!
